Ordination service of Rev. Fr. Joshua (Binoy) George


“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you

The Diocesan Metropolitan of South-West America, His Grace Alexios Mar Eusebius, performed the ordination of Fr. Joshua (Binoy) George to the Order of Holy Priesthood, by the Diocesan Metropolitan, on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at his home parish, St. Thomas Malankara Orthodox Church – Dallas, Texas.

 

He holds his Bachelors in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas, Arlington, and his Masters in Divinity from St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary, New York. Upon graduation from St. Vladimir’s Seminary (2007), Fr. Joshua did his further liturgical studies at the Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam and Parumala Seminary, Kerala.

 

On 1st of April ‘2006, he was ordained as a Sub-Deacon by His Grace Mathews Mar Barnabas, Metropolitan of the Northeast American Diocese, assisted by His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Assistant Metropolitan of the Northeast American Diocese and on 30th September ‘2009, he was ordained as Full Deacon by His Grace Dr. Yuhanon Mar Chrisostomos, Metropolitan of Niranam Diocese at his home parish in Kerala (St. Thomas Malankara Orthodox Church, Padanilum, Nooranad).

Fr. Joshua serves as the OVBS Director of the South -West Diocese since 2009. Also, for the last several years, he has been serving on various committees and is highly involved with the Sunday School activities on both the diocesan as well as the regional level.

He is the youngest son of Mr. George Oonnoonny & Mrs. Achamma George, and is settled in Dallas with his wife, Christina.
