St. Thomas Orthodox Church of Houston elevated to the status of Cathedral
St. Thomas Orthodox Church of Houston is elevated to the status of Cathedral and from today onwards will known and recognize as St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral of Houston, proclaimed Catholicose elect His Beatitude Paulose Mar Milithios Metropolitan on May 22,2010.
His Beatitude read the order of elevation on behalf of Catholicose and Malankara Metropolitan His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Didymos I on 22 May 2010 on the auspicious occasion of the enthronement of the diocesan bishop H.G. Alexios Mar Eusebius.
Holy Episcopal Synod secretary His Grace Mathews Mar Severios, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Rev. Fr. Johns Abraham Konat ( MOSC Priest trustee) , Mr. M.G. George Muthoot (MOSC Lay trustee) , faithful members and clergies from all around the diocese witnessed the event.
This is a special privilege , honor and recognition to all members of the Malankara Orthodox community in and around Houston, who work hard in establishing this parish since 1970’s.
