This is the third consecutive year which St. George Church has won this award!
This year’s competition consisted of 342 participants from 8 parishes from Dallas and Oklahoma, thus making this one of the largest Sunday School events in our diocese.
In addition to the Ever-Rolling Trophy for the parish, the top contestants who scored the most points in the event, both for the Junior and Senior groups, went to St. George Church as well. The recipients of the top individual winners were:
- Izabel Onatt (Pre-K) & Jonah George (1st grade) – Overall Champions for Junior Group (Grades Pre-K to 2)
- Johan George (5th grade) – Overall Champion for Senior Group (Grades 3 -12)
Johan has secured the top performer ever-rolling trophy for the regional competition event for the fourth consecutive year now. Johan and Jonah are the children of Rev. Fr. Joshua (Binoy) George and Christina George. Izabel is the daughter of Pradeesh Kuriakose & Tintu Rajan.
This is certainly a remarkable achievement for Irving, St. George Church under the guidance of Vicar & Principal, Rev. Fr. Joshua George; Asst. Principal, Mrs. Nithu Philip and 14 dedicated teachers and the entire Sunday school group. Words cannot describe the excitement of these children who participated in this competition! Overall, this event has enhanced our children to learn new liturgical hymns from different sacraments and feast days as well as helping them to dive deep into Scripture, patristics and commentaries in preparation for the elocution. Congratulations to the parish! All glory and honor to God for the blessings upon our children!
